Rome & Tuscany Ferrari Experience

DAY 1: Welcome to Rome, the eternal city

We have chosen chosen Rome, this grandiose and fascinating location full of history as the starting point of your Ferrari Experience!

You will be met at Rome - Fiumicino airport and transferred by limousine to the splendid Hotel De Russie, at Piazza del Popolo in the heart of Rome. Here you can take a rest before setting out on an initial tour of the wonders of the 'Eternal City'.

You may have the opportunity to explore some of its most beautiful sights, like the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican.

Visit the Ferrari store as well and capture the right mood for tomorrow's encounter with the Prancing Horse!

In the late evening, meet with your private Tour Director who will take you through the details of your journey and answer any questions you may have. Above all, he will introduce you into the world of Ferrari, explaining the peculiarities of sport-car driving, the differences between the various models(8-cylinder, 12-cylinder, Spider), etc.

DAY 2: Following the Mille Miglia route

• After breakfast, transfer by limousine from your hotel to Civitavecchia's Porto Riva di Traiano tourist harbour on the Roman coast.



• Welcome aperitif in the exclusive Sporting Yacht Club followed by a dedicated Ferrari briefing, with the cars scenically displayed in front of the yachts. Your private Tour Director will clarify the finer details of the controls of your Ferrari, above all how to handle the F1 paddle gear-shifting behind the steering wheel. In the meantime, the Security Manager and his VIP shuttle leave with your luggage: you will find it later on in your hotel room.



• Ferrari practice-drive (first contact with the Ferraris).
  
  Departure by Ferrari for the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort in San Casciano dei Bagni (province of Siena).
  
  Pleasant drive along the panoramic and enchanting roads of the mythical Mille Miglia, passing Viterbo, Bolsena, Acquapendente, Radicofani, etc. During the whole journey, the Ferraris and the Tour Director's Alfa Romeo will be constantly in touch by walkie-talkie.



• Halt for lunch at Lake Bolsena at Restaurant La Pineta.

Afternoon

• Arrival and check-in at the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort.



• Spa & Relax: the mineral-rich, natural warm spring waters that emerge here have multiple therapeutic benefits for the organism. Take advantage of the thermal pool, the bioaquam® circuit (with its various hydromassages) or any other spa treatment offered by this highly reputable spa resort set in the midst of the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia (southern Tuscany).

DAY 3: Val d'Orcia Ferrari tour (Pienza - Montepulciano - Montalcino)

  Departure by Ferrari for a tour of the magnificent Val d'Orcia.
  
  Discovery of the picturesque and the breathtaking panorama offered by the valley landscape, enriched by pure driving pleasure of roads around the amazing succession of rolling hills and never-ending curves! At the wheel of his Alfa Romeo, Our Director guides you through a colourful landscape passing typical towns and villages, whose charming appeal expresses the very soul of the Val d'Orcia.



• First stop is Pienza, Pope Pius' II birthplace, located high on a hillside. Meant to be the ideal Renaissance town, Pienza comprises such beauties as a white stone cathedral, Palazzo Piccolomini with its fine courtyard, Palazzo Borgia, a graceful Piazza.



• The tour heads towards Montepulciano, archetypical Tuscan mediaeval town built at the summit of a hill as well and surrounded by walls and fortifications. The place is famous for its Vino Nobile, one of Italy's major red wines.
  
  
• Lunch at Montepulciano.
  
  Restaurant suggestions: Le Logge del Vignola, La Grotta.

• Next stage is Montalcino, reached meandering through the vineyards that provide the grapes for the production of the famous Brunello. You will taste this other high-class red wine at the estate of Biondi Santi after having visited the cellar of this masterful wine producer.



• Visit of the historical centre of Montalcino with its fort, the churches of Sant'Agostino and Sant'Egidio.

Late afternoon

• Arrival at the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort.
• Spa & Relax.

• Dinner at "La Frateria di Padre Eligio" (Cetona), 25 minutes from Fonteverde Hotel, which has been born in one of the most beautiful monuments ever built by men: St. Francis' convent, founded by St. Francis in 1212, an unchanged example of the life in convent in the Dark Ages.

DAY 4: Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance

• Breakfast.


Departure by Ferrari for Florence.

More milestones of the famous Mille Miglia: San Quirico d'Orcia, Buonconvento, Siena, Monteriggioni, Poggibonsi, San Casciano Val di Pesa, Florence, passing through the famous Chianti region vineyards.



• Arrival in Florence and guided visit of the historical centre.
  
  Birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a jewel in Italy’s crown with architectural treasures literally around every corner. The capital of Tuscany plays host to some of the world’s most beautiful museums and galleries housing works of art by da Vinci, Michelangelo, Giotto and Botticelli. The city of Lorenzo the Magnificent, Dante and Brunelleschi is truly full of magic.



• Lunch in the centre of Florence.

DAY 5: Orvieto (Umbria) & Back to the coast

• Breakfast and checkout.
  
  Departure by Ferrari for Orvieto (Umbria), a little beautiful town well known for its Cathedral and its Well of St. Patrick.
  
  Alternative: Spa & Relax.



• Halt en route for lunch.

• The Ferrari tour carries on towards the Roman coast.



• Arrival in Ladispoli (Rome) and check-in at the magnificent Hotel La Posta Vecchia.
  Built on the site of the Roman Alsium, this villa overlooking the sea and delicately decorated became the home of prince Orsini's family from 1640 onwards before being restored by the oil magnate Jean Paul Getty in the 20th century.

• Dinner in the refined Cesar Restaurant (La Posta Vecchia).


Today, you can drive up to 250 km in Ferrari

DAY 6: Chill out on the Roman coast

• After breakfast you can take it easy in the splendid property of La Posta Vecchia. A dip in the sea from the private beach, a stroll around the park, a swim in the indoor pool or a visit to the archaeological museum will perfectly round up your stay: You feel not guests of a hotel, but of a private noble residence!

Checkout.

On request: private tour of the Tarquinia area, famous for its Etruscan tombs, or a transfer to the centre of Rome for shopping or visits.

A limousine will take you to the destination of your choice or to Rome - Fiumicino international airport for your return flight.
