Rome & Tuscany Ferrari Experience
 
 

DAY 1: Welcome to Rome, the eternal city

We have chosen Rome, this grandiose and fascinating location full of history as the starting point of your Ferrari Experience!

You will be met at Rome - Fiumicino airport and transferred by limousine to the splendid Hotel De Russie, at Piazza del Popolo in the heart of Rome. Here you can take a rest before setting out on an initial tour of the wonders of the 'Eternal City'.

You may have the opportunity to explore some of its most beautiful sights, like the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican.

Visit the Ferrari store as well and capture the right mood for tomorrow's encounter with the Prancing Horse!

In the late evening, meet with your private Tour Director who will take you through the details of your journey and answer any questions you may have. Above all, he will introduce you into the world of Ferrari, explaining the peculiarities of sport-car driving, the differences between the various models(8-cylinder, 12-cylinder, Spider), etc.

Dinner in Rome.

DAY 2: Following the Mille Miglia route

Morning
  • After breakfast, transfer by limousine from your hotel to Civitavecchia's Porto Riva di Traiano tourist harbour on the Roman coast.

  • Welcome aperitif in the exclusive Sporting Yacht Club followed by a dedicated Ferrari briefing, with the cars scenically displayed in front of the yachts. Your private Tour Director will clarify the finer details of the controls of your Ferrari, above all how to handle the F1 paddle gear-shifting behind the steering wheel. In the meantime, the Security Manager and his VIP shuttle leave with your luggage: you will find it later on in your hotel room.

  • Ferrari practice-drive (first contact with the Ferraris).

    Departure by Ferrari for the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort in San Casciano dei Bagni (province of Siena).

    Pleasant drive along the panoramic and enchanting roads of the mythical Mille Miglia, passing Viterbo, Bolsena, Acquapendente, Radicofani, etc. During the whole journey, the Ferraris and the Tour Director's Alfa Romeo will be constantly in touch by walkie-talkie.

  • Arrival and check-in at the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort, followed by lunch in the hotel's Ferdinando I Restaurant.

  • Spa & Relax: the mineral-rich, natural warm spring waters that emerge here have multiple therapeutic benefits for the organism. Take advantage of the thermal pool, the bioaquam® circuit (with its various hydromassages) or any other spa treatment offered by this highly reputable spa resort set in the midst of the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia (southern Tuscany).

Evening
  • Departure for Pienza, for a visit of Pope Pius' II birthplace, located high on a hillside. Meant to be the ideal Renaissance town, Pienza comprises such beauties as a white stone cathedral, Palazzo Piccolomini with its fine courtyard, Palazzo Borgia, a graceful Piazza.

  • Dinner in Montepulciano, archetypical Tuscan mediaeval town built at the summit of a hill as well and surrounded by walls and fortifications. The place is famous for its Vino Nobile, one of Italy's major red wines.

  • Restaurant suggestion: Le Logge del Vignola, La Grotta.

DAY 3: Val d'Orcia & Siena by Ferrari

Morning
  • Breakfast and checkout.

    Departure by Ferrari for Siena.

    Next milestones of the famous Mille Miglia: San Quirico d'Orcia, Buonconvento,Siena.
    At the wheel of his Alfa Romeo, Our Tour Director guides you through a vivid itinerary made of typical towns and villages, whose charming appeal expresses the very soul of the Val d'Orcia.

  • Arrival in Siena, an unspoiled mediaeval city, world-renowned for its Palio, a horse race around the city's seashell-like Piazza del Campo. Siena's other intact gems from the Middle Age include the Town Hall (Palazzo Pubblico) and the Torre dei Mangia (1340), which is about as high as the Cathedral.

  • Lunch in Siena's main square, Piazza del Campo, at Antica Trattoria Botteganova typical restaurant.
Afternoon
  • Visit of the historical centre of Siena (with Piazza del Campo), leisure-time.

  • Departure by Ferrari for the Roman coast.

  • En route: halts at Bagno Vignoni and San Quirico d'Orcia for the visits of those charming mediaeval towns.

  • Arrival in Ladispoli (Rome) and check-in at the magnificent Hotel La Posta Vecchia. Built on the site of the Roman Alsium, this villa overlooking the sea and delicately decorated became the home of prince Orsini's family from 1640 onwards before being restored by the oil magnate Jean Paul Getty in the 20th century.
Evening
  • Dinner in the refined Cesar Restaurant (La Posta Vecchia).

  • Today, you can drive up to 300 km in Ferrari

DAY 4: Chill out on the Roman coast

Morning

After breakfast you can take it easy in the splendid property of La Posta Vecchia. A dip in the sea from the private beach, a stroll around the park, a swim in the indoor pool or a visit to the archaeological museum will perfectly round up your stay: You feel not guests of a hotel, but of a private noble residence!

Noon

Checkout
On request: private tour of the Tarquinia area, famous for its Etruscan tombs, or a transfer to the centre of Rome for shopping or visits. A limousine will take you to the destination of your choice or to Rome - Fiumicino international airport for your return flight.
