Dundas Castle

Dundas Castle is one of Scotland's most beautiful and historic castles. Built in 1818 by the renowned Scottish architect, William Burn, the Castle is now the luxurious stately home of Sir Jack Stewart-Clark and his wife, Lady Lydia. Secluded in the peaceful countryside of its own 1000 acre grounds, yet only 8 miles from Edinburgh, Dundas Castle offers all the comforts and high standards associated with the best of hotels.

With rooms in the 15th Century Auld Keep, the Main House and the Pavilion Marquee, you have the opportunity to combine an adventure on the estate with a dynamic indoor activity. Dundas has a five stand clay shooting area within the estate to practice your shots. With the façade of the castle as a backdrop, you can experience a display of the magnificent birds of prey including eagles, falcons and owls and even have the opportunity to handle a selection of the birds yourself. You can also test your archery skills during your kingly stay.

How to reach there:

  • Dundas Castle is situated near South Queensferry, approximately half an hour by car north of the centre of Edinburgh, and just south of the Forth Road Bridge.

  • Guests should enter from the North Lodge access road.
