Paradiso

Blancaneaux Lodge

Discover a paradise where waterfalls spill into turquoise pools and Mayan ruins spring from the inland Belize forest. As you sweep down this upscale resort's hibiscus and palm-lined drive, past the croquet lawn, you may get a whiff of Beverly Hills. Indeed, the lodge is owned by director Francis Ford Coppola. A fleet of Land Rovers takes you to remote Mayan ruins or on shopping trips to Guatemala.

Blancaneaux Lodge offers modern comforts in an entirely self-sustained jungle sanctuary. The menu features many Coppola family recipes and proudly reflects his Italian heritage. The restaurant is one of the best in the Cayo, specializing in Italian dishes and serving wines from Coppola's wineries. Coppola's wines from his Napa Valley estate, Niebaum-Coppola are available on the wine list.

How to reach there:

  • Those with their own planes can fly into the resort's landing strip.

  • You can also come on a charter flight from Belize City.
